Using voice commands in Zoom Rooms
Users of Zoom Rooms are able to perform basic functions through voice commands without having to interact with touch screens. It is possible to take advantage of this functionality by issuing voice commands from the native Zoom Rooms voice engine without having to install any additional hardware or setup any additional software.

How to use voice commands
You can say... | Zoom Rooms will... |
---|---|
“Hello Zoom” | I would like to start with a wake-up call. It will be possible to send commands to the Zoom Room once it is ready. This command can also be followed by another command if you wish. |
“Check in” “Check out” | Upon checking in, the room will remain reserved, or if you are checking out, the room will be freed up for other guests to use. |
“Start meeting” “Start scheduled meeting” “Start instant meeting” | Set up a meeting that is scheduled or instantaneous. |
“Join meeting ID” (say the ID number) | If you have selected a meeting ID, please join it. There will be a prompt to ask you to enter a passcode if the meeting requires one. One character at a time must be said as the passcode. |
“Join personal link” (say the personal link name. You must say one character at a time) | The link to your personal account can be found here. A passcode will be asked for if there is a passcode, and you will need to say it. One character at a time must be pronounced for the personal link name and password. |
“Delete” | If you entered a number or character that you did not want to keep, remove it. |
“Leave meeting” “End meeting” | The meeting should be ended or left at that point. |
Known issues
-
It is possible to delete the last character of the meeting ID, personal link, or passcode if a wrong number or character has been detected during the saying of the ID, link or passcode. You can try saying the character in a slightly different manner if the system does not detect an incorrect character on subsequent attempts. Suppose, for example, that you say “a”, but the system detects “8”, say instead “lowercase a”.
