Using Zoom on a foldable device

Due to the arrival of foldable mobile devices on the Android platform, Zoom offers an experience for its users that takes into account the device’s folded orientation so that meetings can be conducted properly. When the device is folded and in table-top mode, the control panel of the device is shifted to the lower half of the screen, while the video files remain on the top half of the screen.

Prerequisites

• For Android mobile devices, you need Zoom app version 5.7.7 (2047) or higher

• If you are using an Android device that is foldable and supported, you can do the following:

  • Galaxy Fold from Samsung

  • There is a standard and a 5G version of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip

  • A 5G version of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 is now available

  • It has been announced that Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold3 (5G) is now available

  • The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 (5G version) is a successor to the Galaxy Z

How to use a foldable device with Zoom

As soon as you fold the device and use it in table-top mode, Zoom will automatically adjust the screen to fit the size of the fold. This is a great feature when attending Zoom meetings on Android devices.

In addition to the videos from participants, most of the meeting controls have been moved below the fold and are now located at the bottom of the screen.
