In Internet Explorer 11, there is a problem with buffering when using HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) under Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. As soon as the progress bar is dragged forward and backward several times, videoJS cannot render the page as fast as usual. The UI will be broken if the page needs to be re-rendered on an extremely large scale (usually when full-screen is exited or the window changes size). It occurs both with the old and new Network-based Recording (NBR) player. It is an implementation issue with the browser.

Using the old NBR player which uses videoJS5, if you drag the progress bar from full screen to full screen several times, you will have the video break off when you enter full screen.

As far as the official video demonstration for hls.js is concerned, which is an adapted version of the program based on videojs7, it will not break if you drag the progress bar more than once, however if you use the ESC key to exit full screen, the video area will not adapt to the new size when you do this (see https://video-dev.github.io/hls.js/demo/, and click the link below: http://d2zihajmogu5jn.cloudfront.net/bipbop_16x9_variant.m3u8.

In the new NBR player, there is a similar interface to that of hls.js, however there is still the possibility for the UI to experience issues, especially if you drag the progress bar several times and change the size of the window. When IE11 is resized or you enter/exit full screen, the video will be paused so that it does not happen to cause problems with the UI when you resize the browser. This workaround will help to decrease the chance of experiencing issues, but it will not solve the problem itself.
