Try it!
Create a private channel on your team app if you need to have focused, private conversations with the people you work with.
There are usually several standard channels available in each team and they are available to everyone – they are available to everyone, and each will have the opportunity to view them, participate in the discussion, share files, and ask questions of others, as well as to participate in the discussion.
Upon closing of a channel, it should be noted that it no longer receives support from the public, as it has no longer been open. When a user is explicitly added to a channel, they will have access to all the content within the channel and can participate in its activities.
Create a private channel
- Choose More options > Add channel from the main menu of a team that you wish to add a channel to.
- Please enter the name of the account and the description of the account.
- The option to make the information private can be found under the Privacy section, by selecting the arrow on the bottom left and selecting the option to make it private.
- The next step is to select Next.
- You can invite guests by typing their names in the field provided if you have anyone you would like to invite.
- Then you will need to select the Add option.
A lock will appear next to the name of the channel once you have added it to your people’s list of channels. Whenever you click on the Open People pane at the top of the window, you will see a list of everyone who has been added to the Private Channel window.
Share a file and Meet Now
- It is worth mentioning that, when you share a file via a private channel, only the people in the channel will be able to access and see that file, so anyone else outside the channel will not be able to view that file. In order to facilitate sharing of files, these files are stored separately on a SharePoint site that is separate from the standard channels where the standard files are located. The only people able to view the contents of a private channel are those who are members of it.
- The option Meet now will enable you to meet only the people who are part of the private channel.
