Video: Meet instantly in Microsoft Teams
Try it!
A few clicks are all it takes to turn a team discussion into a meeting. It’s possible to add audio and video to your presentation, as well as screen sharing.
Start an instant meeting
Using Microsoft Teams, you can start an instant meeting in one of two ways:
- Choose a channel in which you would like to meet.
- In order to keep a conversation in context, click Reply in the conversation thread and then click Meet below where your reply would be typed. As a way to keep a conversation in context, click Reply in the conversation thread and after that click Meet under your response. It will then be possible for you to maintain a context over time about what was discussed during the conversation.
Join a meeting
The following are some of the highlights from the pre-meeting video:
- If you have a camera, microphone, and speaker on your computer, you need to set them up, or you can turn them on.
- I would suggest that you name the meeting if you would like, and then click the Join now button.
Invite others to a meeting
Have you ever wanted someone to join a meeting you have scheduled on an ad-hoc basis?
- If you want to invite people to a meeting at any time, you can select Show participants.
- You can either type your name in the box or enter your phone number in the box.
- On the invitation screen, you will have the option to request someone to join.
Manage your meeting
The recording process consists of recording your meeting, sharing content among participants, and later on sharing the recording of the meeting.
- Selecting More actions Start recording is what you will need to do in order to record the meeting.
- Using the Share content tray on the left side of the screen, you can select which content you need to share, such as a screenshot, an open window, or a PowerPoint presentation.
- Where you originally started your meeting in Teams is the place where you are able to find your recorded meeting. This recording can be viewed, edited, and shared with others so that they can also benefit from it.
