Webex App Change your self-view location
In a meeting, either show your own view as a floating window in the corner of your screen or as part of the videos of the other participants. If you would rather not have a meeting where you have to look at yourself, you can hide your self view.
During a meeting, you will have the ability to view your own video during the meeting. This application allows you to see how others see you in the same way you see yourself.
The options you choose affect only your perception of your self-perception, not what other people perceive about you.
The location of the self-view can be changed during or after the meeting, and it applies to all future meetings you have in the Webex App:
-
As soon as you click Video options > Self-view location during a meeting, the Self-view location will appear.
By clicking on More options in your self-view, you are also able to access the Self-view location.
-
You can turn on your video from your profile picture by clicking the Setting > Video button when you are not in a meeting.
Choose the option that you want under Self view in meetings by scrolling down to the bottom:
-
Show with others—You can show your self view within the videos of other participants in the meeting if you want to feel included with the other participants in the meeting. As a default, this is the option that you should choose.
-
Show in floating window—When you show your self view in a floating window, you will have more room to see other people or to view the content that has been shared with you.
It might be necessary to drag the self view to another corner of the meeting window if, when you choose this option, your self view covers the shared content.
-
Hide—Hiding your self-view is the best way to avoid looking at yourself if you don’t want to.
It is still possible for others to see what you are doing. It is advisable to turn off your video if you do not wish to have others see you.
In order to have your self-view only appear when your video is on and you have selected either Show with others or Show in a floating window, please select Show only when the video is on. This check box is not selected by default, which means that it is not enabled.
It is possible that your profile picture or display name will appear in self-view if you do not select this option and turn off your video.
Save the file by clicking on the Save button.
This change will be applied to all future meetings in the Webex App if you change your self-view location during the meeting or at any time:
