Webex App | Spaces and Teams
Spaces and teams are where all your work occurs in Webex App. Messages can be sent, calls can be made, videos can be viewed, and files can be shared.
Direct Messages
Messages are sent directly to a single recipient. Conversations you start remain between you and the other person, and you cannot add anyone else to them.
Spaces
For groups working on specific topics, spaces work well. Regardless of whether it’s short-term or long-term, you get together to resolve this problem. However, the focus is narrower and more specialized. Standalone spaces are also sometimes referred to as such.
The only way to join a space is to be added to it by someone who already belongs there.
People can add or remove people from spaces, and they can change their names and pictures as they please, since they are initially unmoderated. You can make yourself a moderator of a space if you wish to have more control over who joins. You’ll also be able to delete people’s messages or files, in addition to adding people to the space.
Public Spaces
Creating public spaces within your organization makes it easier for people to discover what your organization has to offer. Explore public spaces, join or create them, and network with others who share your interests. There is no specific team associated with public spaces, so they are different from other spaces. A public space you create can be accessed by anyone within your organization. A public space can be made private at any time if you change your mind.
Teams
Creating a team and moving a space into a team is an option if your original intention changes and the project outgrows its initial purpose.
By organizing multiple areas under a common theme, teams help you keep everything organized. In the case of long-term projects, teams are perfect for a consistent group of individuals. In addition, that something could include many activities or be a group of subprojects taking place simultaneously.
In order to join a team, you must be added by a moderator.
A Microsoft 365 group can also be linked to the team when it is created. Your files can be saved in Microsoft Sharepoint folders and you can manage the team on Microsoft 365.
Team spaces, General, are available to every team. When you join the team, you’re automatically added to the General space. Whenever there is an unmoderated team space within the team, you can view it and join it as a member. Also, you can invite others to join your team space.
