The Personal Room is available to Webex users who have a license to host meetings. The permanent, unique link for the Personal Room can be shared with anyone you invite.

Share the link to your Personal Room with others anytime to invite them to your meeting. You can also invite and remind participants once the meeting is started by going to More options > Invite and remind.

Select Start a meeting from the Meetings menu.

There may be several reasons why you can’t start a meeting:

• Webex is not available to you.

• As an attendee, you do not have a host license with your Webex account.

• A Personal Room is not enabled on your Webex account.

Please set up your Personal Room in the app first if it does not appear here. You can find more information about setting up your personal room here.

iPhone and iPad

1. Click on Meetings.
2. Select Start a Meeting from the global action menu.
3. You must first associate your Personal Room link with the app in order for it to appear here. You can find more information about setting up your personal room here.
4. Make sure you have selected the right audio and video settings before joining the meeting.
5. Join the meeting by tapping the button.

Android

1. Click Meetings to see what’s happening.
2. Starting a meeting can be done by tapping the floating action button.
3. If your Personal Room link doesn’t appear here, you need to associate it with the app first. See Set up your Personal Room for more information.
4. Before joining the meeting, you will need to select the audio and video settings.
5. Join the meeting by tapping the button.

Web

1. Select Meetings > Start meeting once you have signed in to Webex.
2. Meetings can still be scheduled even if the Start meeting button isn’t visible.
3. The link to your Personal Room may not appear here until it has been set up in the app. Find out how to set up your personal room by visiting Set Up Your Personal Room.

Phone only

You can start a meeting in your Personal Room from your phone if you stepped away from your computer or do not have a good internet connection. Audio only is heard during the meeting, as it would be with a normal telephone call.

A scheduled meeting can also be started by phone.

Dial one of the call-in numbers.

The numbers to call are as follows:

1. Then click Meetings from the settings menu.

2. You will need to sign in to your Webex site next to Default Webex site URL and then click Configure Advanced Settings.

3. To join more ways, click on More ways to join under your Personal Room name. Next, you’ll need to enter the host PIN and access code.

Enter the access code, then press #.

You will be prompted to enter the number that you saved.

Webex asks you for one of the phone numbers that it uses for authentication when you call from a number you haven’t saved in Webex. These numbers can be found in My phone numbers under your audio and video preferences.

Enter your host PIN, then press #.

You can manage the meeting by using the keypad on your phone.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create a Webex meeting in personal room?

Click on your profile picture and select Meetings from the settings menu. You can configure advanced settings by clicking Configure Advanced Settings under Default Webex site URL. When you go to the site, click More ways to join under your Personal Room name. There is also an access code and a host PIN on this page which you will need to enter in the next step.

What is difference between Webex meeting and personal room?

Hosts or alternative hosts that have been assigned to the host are responsible for starting personal rooms. When joining a Personal Room using the dial-in only option, the host will need to enter their host PIN to access the meeting. This is different from a standard Webex meeting where the host can dial in only. This will be the last time other people can join the meeting until then.

How does personal room work in Webex?

Your own personal conference room is what we call a Personal Room. There is never a need to book this service, as it is always available. It is easy for attendees to get in touch with you by clicking on your Personal Room link, sending you an email, or calling you directly. Log into your Webex site by entering your Webex username and password.

How do I schedule a Webex personal room meeting in Outlook?

It is possible to configure Webex preferences from the Cisco Webex group right on the ribbon of Outlook if you are using Outlook for desktop. Select the New event > Cisco Webex Scheduler > Webex Preferences menu item from Outlook on the web in order to schedule a Webex meeting. Under Webex Meeting Link, select the type of meeting that you would like to use as the default and select Save.

Can Webex be used for personal use?

In addition to this, you’ll be able to host meetings with up to 100 participants, view HD video, share your screen, and have your own room. I would like to make a point of saying that it is free to use.

How many people can join a Webex personal room?

If you are joining a Webex meeting from a video device or a Webex App, only a maximum of 200 people can join the meeting, regardless of how many participants your license allows.

How do I change a Webex meeting type?

You can change the type of session that you are using

Click Configure Site, and then select the Webex site which you want to change the settings for. Select Session Types from the Common Settings menu. If a custom session type is the one that you want to edit, find the session code for the primary session type and then click the link for that custom session type in the Session Code column.
