Version 1.9.3

Bulk add devices to the Expert on Demand registry

Using plainly prepared Comma Separated Value (CSV) files, it is possible for you to quickly and easily add various devices to your Expert on Demand registry.

For instructions on how to add many devices at once to the Expert on Demand registry:

  1. Select Devices in the Management section of the left navigation, and after that, select the XOD devices tab. Click the Add Device button.
  2. After deciding whether you want to assign the devices to an Existing User or a Workspace, select the Import/Upload CSV file option from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click the Download button under the Bulk add devices dialog box to save a sample CSV template to your computer.
  4. Complete the following fields in the CSV sample file:
  • The device’s unique identification number, or serial number.Required.
  • deviceThe model of the gadget being discussed.Required.
  • deviceName: The name of the device that is being referred to.Optional.

The following electronic gadgets can be used:

  • Google Glass 2
  • RealWear HMT-1
  • RealWear Navigator 500

If you ignore the case of the names, the entries in the device model column need to precisely match one of those names.

Once you have finished creating your CSV file, you can upload it to the server by selecting “Choose a file,” navigating to the location where it is stored, selecting it, and then clicking “OK.”
Click the Import button once the file has been successfully uploaded to begin the import process.
A dialogue box will appear in the event that the system discovers any issues, including duplicate serial numbers, formatting errors, or unrecognized devices. Make the necessary corrections, then reupload the files.

In the event that there are no mistakes discovered, the devices will be added to the XOD registry. You may view the recently added devices by going to the tab labeled XOD Devices.

Activating and deactivating the Background Noise Reduction (BNR) feature

When a user checks in, the Background Noise Reduction (BNR) feature is already active in their account by default. Saying “No Noise Off” when in the program menu will turn off the feature. You can reach the menu by using the voice command “Menu.”

When you disable this feature, the associated switch in the menu moves to the OFF position, and the BNR status is also displayed in the top-right corner of the screen as disabled.

You will need to visit the menu and then say the voice command “No Noise On” in order to re-enable BNR. This moves the switch in the menu to the ON position, and the status icon in the top-right corner of the screen likewise shifts to show that the feature has been activated after being disabled.

Notes

  • .Only when there are no calls currently being received or made can the BNR feature be toggled on or off. There is presently no support for toggling BNR while an active call is being held.
  • The necessary voice commands to turn BNR on and off are supported, and there is no requirement for the menu to be active in order to use them. The status indicator that is displayed at the top will be updated properly to reflect the current state.
  • The user’s selected BNR choice will remain even after the program or device has been restarted; however, the setting is only saved locally on the device itself. Therefore, whenever a user logs out of the application, the program will revert back to its original state with BNR enabled by default.
