Webex | Management with VMware Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Management (UEM)
Overview
Integration with Mobile Device Management (MDM) products, such as VMware Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Management (UEM), is something that can be accomplished with Webex. You’ll be able to provision, configure, and regulate access to mobile applications that have been installed within your organization with the help of these technologies. In addition, they make it possible to monitor, control, and protect corporate mobile devices that are used within an enterprise.
You can enroll and manage Webex on privately owned devices (BYOD) and corporate phones by using Workspace ONE UEM.
You will be able to import the Webex App (for iOS or Android) into your Workspace ONE UEM app catalog, configure the app, and then distribute it to users with the assistance of this article.
Prerequisites
It is necessary for you to have a Workspace ONE UEM administrator account.
You will need an administrator account for Webex.
You have Android and/or iOS devices that have been enrolled and are in compliance with the security policy of your firm.
Your Webex organization’s Control Hub must be populated with your users before they may log in.
Deploy Webex App to Android devices
1 You can access the Workspace ONE UEM console at https://[orgname].awmdm.com/. The orgname in this URL should be replaced with the name that has been given to your organization.
2 To access the list view page, select APPS & BOOKS from the navigation pane on the left.
3 Navigate to the Public tab, and once you’re there, click the ADD APPLICATION button.
4 After clicking the ADD APPLICATION button, input the required information, which includes the following:
Cisco Webex 5 is the name of this product. The platform is Android and the source is Search Appstore.
Simply click Next, and then confirm that you are happy with the Webex App and its permissions.
6 On the screen where you are editing the Webex application, click the SAVE & ASSIGN button.
7 When the Webex Assignment page finally loads, select the values you want to use for the Assignment Groups and App Delivery Method fields.
8 Navigate to the Webex – Assignment page, click the Application Configuration link, check the box next to the Send Configuration option, select the App Configuration settings that you wish to use for the Webex App, and then click the CREATE button.

9 To send the Webex App to the Android devices belonging to that group, select SAVE the assignment and then PUBLISH from the drop-down menu.
Configure the restriction policy
You can utilize the Android profile that has already been configured for the Webex App; but, if you have not yet generated a profile for Android, you can create one by following these instructions.
1 Navigate to the Devices > Profile & Resources menu option on the Workspace ONE UEM console.
2 Select “ADD” and then “Add Profile.”
3 When the Add Profile screen finally appears, select Android as the platform you want to use.
4 Scroll down to the Restrictions section of the New profile configuration and check the boxes next to the Work and personal applications you want to prohibit.

Deploy Webex App to iOS devices
1 To access the LIST VIEW page, select APPS & BOOKS from the navigation pane on the left.
2 Navigate to the Public tab, then click the ADD APPLICATION button once you’re there.
3 Fill in the blanks with the following information:
- Platform—Apple iOS
- Source—Search Appstore
- Name—Cisco Webex

After selecting Cisco Webex and proceeding to the following step, you will see the Add Application – Webex page.
5 To save and assign, click the SAVE button.
6 Select the Webex user Assignment Group from the drop-down menu under Distribution on the Webex – Assignment page.
7 Go to the Application Configuration menu and make sure the Send Configuration checkbox is checked.
8 Enter the following parameters to configure the app:

9 After selecting SAVE from the drop-down menu that appears after clicking the CREATE assignment button, you will be prompted to PUBLISH the assignment to the users’ mobile devices.
Supported restrictions
Passcode/TouchID
Give the user the option of setting up a passcode or TouchID. When the Webex App is launched from a mobile device, the user is requested to enter a passcode before they may continue.
Maximum PIN attempts
Set a limit on the number of times a user can enter an erroneous PIN before they are locked out.
Managed Open-In/Document Sharing
Permit the sharing of documents from the Webex app with other apps that are governed by policy.
Prevent App Backup
Users should not be able to save data from the Webex app to the Android or iOS backup service.
Disable Screen Capture
(On Android) Disable the ability to capture the screen and access Google Assistant.
This limitation is built into the iOS operating system and applies to users of that platform.
Remotely Wipe App
The Webex App on a mobile device can be remotely deleted using this feature.
Disable Copy and Paste
Users should not be able to copy and paste between the Webex app and other apps that are not monitored. However, you have the option to permit copying and pasting with other programs governed by company policy.
