What’s New in Wholesale RTM in webex
We are bringing Webex to the SMB segment by using the market power of thousands of service providers around the globe through our Wholesale Route-to-Market (RTM) program, which is designed to leverage the market power of Service Providers to bring Webex to the SMB segment.
Our goal is to keep you informed about the latest administration features in Wholesale RTM as part of our partnership program. We will notify you as soon as new releases are available by subscribing to this article.
As a Service Provider administrator, you are responsible for managing Wholesale RTM on behalf of your customers. This article is intended for you. Please refer to the What’s New in Webex section for information on end-user features.
There is a knowledge portal dedicated to the wholesale route to market that has technical documentation.

Noise Removal for PSTN Calls
Webex callers can take advantage of this feature by clicking on an icon in the calling window to adjust the volume of any noise they receive from external callers, enhancing the call experience and making it possible to carry on clear conversations.
Room OS Support
In order to acquire additional SIP connectivity to Room OS devices, this solution enables both shared and personal Room OS Webex devices to register to both Webex Cloud and Webex Calling with only a single activation code, conferring additional SIP capabilities to Room OS devices. With this solution, meetings can be optimized through the use of SIP conferencing. Room OS calling is enhanced by the solution, which offers you the ability to make PSTN calls with your Room OS device as well as telephony features, such as holding, conferencing, and transferring calls. There are currently four series of devices supported by Room OS, namely the Room and Room Kit series, the Desk series, and the Board series. Also, administrators will have the option to work directly with the Room OS device via the Control Hub in areas with improved serviceability. In addition to seeing device status information, administrators can also open a view that contains options for remote rebooting the device or sending a troubleshooting report that includes troubleshooting options.
October 2022
Check for Denied and restricted persons
As part of compliance with the US Department of Commerce’s restricted person list, provisioning automatically checks the customer to see if he or she appears on this list.
August 2022
Pre-provisioning System Check
Make sure this API is run before provisioning to make sure it goes smoothly and there are no issues with provisioning. Before the customer and subscriber are provisioned, the API automatically checks the setup of the customer, highlighting potential issues such as a domain problem or email issue.
Support Language Locales
The default locale for this customer organization is based on the language that was assigned in BroadWorks when an administration user is provisioned for the first time. This language is automatically assigned as the default locale during provisioning. A setting such as this determines the language that will be used for activation emails, meetings, and meeting invites within the customer organization under which the customer resides.
Webex Voice Only Package
In addition to providing a phone calling package, Webex is now launching a Voice Only Package for the new Flex 3.0 Professional package as well. This service includes the ability to make calls, receive voicemail, as well as integration with RedSky E911. However, meetings, messaging, and Contact Center functionality is not included. Devices that support Webex in softphone mode, mobile devices that support MPP, and third-party phones are all supported.
July 2022
Partner Read-only Administrator
A new role has been created for users within a partner organization, which provides them with read-only access to the settings for Partner Hub, as well as to the settings for Control Hub for customer organizations which the partner manages on behalf of its customers. As a result, neither portal is editable by the administrator, despite the fact that he has access to both portals. An administrator with this role can provide basic access to a user in situations where such tasks may be needed, such as viewing analytics or taking advantage of upsell opportunities. It is important to note, however, that they are not responsible for managing settings as part of their role.
Wholesale Setup Assist
This service is onboarding assistance for Cisco’s partners that is offered as part of their Wholesale Setup Assist program. In addition, it is available as two new wholesale SKUs: Setup Assist Express and Setup Assist Standard, which can be ordered for specific customer locations. During the process of placing an order, we determine the SKU for the products that will be used based on the quantity of users that our partners provide for that specific location (see below). As part of the process, a billing reconciliation report is automatically updated by the partner for their partners so that they are able to bill their customers correctly.
Here are the two Wholesale Setup Assist SKUs as well as their corresponding pricing models for Wholesale Setup Assist:
SKU | SKU is used for... | Costs |
---|---|---|
Express | There are no more than five users at this location | $30 per location (flat rate) |
Standard | With five or more users, this location is considered a busy place | $15 per user per location |
There is a net transfer price to the partner which is shown in the following table. As a result of wholesale partner discounts, the list prices will differ (higher) compared to the wholesale prices.

SPAM Call Indicator
Using a STIR-SHAKEN backend, you will be able to monitor incoming calls, and you will be notified when you receive an incoming call that is suspected to be spam or is from a known SPAM originator. On the Webex desktop and mobile apps, incoming calls may be accompanied by one of three possible types of alerts as part of the Caller ID notification as well as the call history as part of the caller identification:
-
Verified caller
-
Possible spam
-
Potential fraud
In Webex Calling, you can find more information about detecting spam or fraudulent calls.
Voicemail Transcription
As part of the Visual Voicemail view in the desktop and mobile apps of those customers who use Wholesale RTM, they have the ability to view transcripts of their voicemail messages.
It is recommended that you read Voicemail transcription for Webex calling for information regarding this feature.
See Configure and manage voicemail settings for a Webex Calling user for information on how to configure voicemail settings for a Webex Calling user.

MPP Device Support
The Webex-capable MPP devices can be connected to Webex and can be accessed via Webex services through this solution. Across the Webex App and MPP Phones, the solution is designed to provide Wholesale RTM users with a consistent and intuitive user experience. It is intended to serve as a stepping stone to a set of cloud connectivity features that will include Unified Contacts, Call History, and Presence in the future.
Enhanced serviceability options have also been added to Control Hub, so that administrators can maintain MPP devices directly from Control Hub. When a device administrator opens a view of the device, they are able to see information on the device status, as well as options for rebooting the device remotely and submitting a troubleshooting report to the vendor.
The Webex Features Available on Cisco MPP Devices page provides information about the process of onboarding new MPP devices.

With a high number of calls and large meetings required within the company, this package will appeal to senior or professional level employees within the company.

Introducing Wholesale Route To Market (RTM)
In order to bring Webex to the SMB segment of the market, the Wholesale Route-to-Market (RTM) program is a strategic channel solution that leverages the power of Service Providers across the globe to bring Webex to the SMB segment. As part of Cisco’s innovation portfolio, it boasts deep expertise in collaboration and innovative technology. There are three components to the new model, including a new operating model, a new commercial model, and a new partner program.
The Wholesale platform includes APIs for operations and a Partner Portal that allow partners to easily create differentiated and cobranded offers with their own products within the market, while also providing services that enable high-volume, high-velocity transactions.
There are currently 35M BroadWorks users in the Webex cloud who will be able to take advantage of the new Wholesale commercial strategy that offers predictable, fixed, per-user, per-month pricing and monthly billing in arrears to facilitate their move to the Webex cloud. As a result, all of their end customers are now connected to a single commercial relationship with each SP, greatly simplifying the workflow process for both parties.
In addition to addressing the technical goals of the service providers, the Wholesale Partner Program also addresses the business objectives. Onboarding and Go-to-Market are two parallel work streams within Cisco’s Managed Onboarding Program. A robust set of migration and marketing toolkits, as well as Cisco experts who specialize in onboarding, make sure partners get the best onboarding experience possible.
Among the wholesale offerings is the Webex service, which is available in four packages: Webex Calling, Webex Meetings, Webex Suite, and Common Area Calling.
You can find more information about this solution in the Wholesale Route to Market Solution Guide.

Hot Desking Support for MPP 8875, MPP8800 Series, & Room OS devices
By allowing employees to sign in and book a shared device for their workday during the hours of hot desking, companies can make the best use of office space.
Users of the product get all the benefits of having their own meeting device, such as meeting notifications that arrive five minutes before the meeting starts. As soon as a user receives a notification from One Button to Push, this event is added to his personal calendar, and he can join his meetings directly from there. Those who use hot desks will be able to take advantage of the standard features of Webex Meetings, such as the whiteboard. From Join Webex, users are able to establish Personal Room meetings, where they can control the meeting settings and make sure the meeting runs as planned.
