Which Skype enabled devices or platforms are no longer supported?
The quality, reliability, and security of Skype are always improving. It is sometimes necessary to retire older versions of Skype and Skype-enabled devices so that everyone can experience the best Skype has to offer. Skype may have problems working on unsupported devices, platforms, and networks, causing dropped or lost calls and instant messages.

The following devices no longer support Skype:
- Fire phone from Amazon
- Versions of Android below 4.0.2
- The BlackBerry Operating System
Note: Blackberry devices powered by Android are not affected - A version of iOS less than 9
- There are a few versions of Mac OS X that are older than 10.8
- HoloLens integration with Skype
- Mixed reality with Skype in Windows
- Telephones and adapters that will allow you to connect to Skype landlines, cordless DECT phones, and analog telephones
Note: It is still possible to purchase Skype phones, and adapters through third party retailers, although they are no longer supported by Skype - For Verizon customers, Skype has a mobile app called Skype for Verizon.
- There are three ways to use Skype:
- Skype is available on Telkomsel
- TV with Skype
- OS based on Symbian
- On Windows 10 versions 1511 (OS Build 10586) and under, you can use Windows 10 messaging and calling apps.
Note: It is not affected by the Anniversary Update or prior versions of Windows 10 UWP apps. - 8.1 and earlier versions of Windows Phone
