When your zoom phone is activated on your account you are eligible to transfer the ongoing phone calls. You can notice three of the call transfer techniques: blind transfer, warm transfer, and transfer to voicemail.
Remember,
- While call transferring, the caller ID displayed to the party receiving the transfer is based on whether they are internal or external numbers.
- But the admin can anytime restrict the user’s ability to call transfer to external or internal contacts. For further information, you should contact the zoom admin.
- When your admin has turned on auto recording, or you can initiate a call recording then the recording will come to end while you choose the transfer option. This is applicable while transferring to internal or external contacts. When you choose the warm transfer you will be able to begin the recording again which will record the prior portions of the complete transfer.

Preconditions of transferring the zoom phone calls.
- For a zoom desktop client.

- Mac OS: 4.4.52551.0414 or above versions.
- Linux: 3.0.285090.0826 or above versions.
- Windows: 3.0.285090.0826 or above versions.
- For the zoom mobile app.
- Android version 4.4.52504.0411 or above.
- IOS. 4.4.0(52578.0415) or above version.
- Should have the zoom phone license.
- Must have the enabled feature of call transferring enabled by admin.
Different methods of transferring.
You can access from any of the three transfer methods of the zoom mobile app or desktop clients.
Blind transfer. You can transfer or shift the call to a particular number and then instantly hang up the call. When there is any phone menu notification then other parties have to complete them.
Warm transfer. You can position your call on hold at the time of completing the transfer. When you wish to navigate an automatic answering machine for the caller then the feature is useful. Also, it is useful when before transferring the call you need to speak to the receiving party.
Transferring to voicemail. It will transfer the call into the voicemail of a particular phone number. This method of transferring sometimes does not work for every number. By using the DTMF codes you can also transfer to voicemail.
Way of transferring a call with the desktop client.
Step 1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop client.
Step 2. Tap on the phone.
Step 3. For receiving or making the call you have to follow the instructions.
Step 4. While in a call tap on transfer.
Step 5. By following any of the steps you can locate or dial any of the phone numbers for transferring to –
- Number pad. You have to dial a number for transferring it.
- Starred contacts. Tap on the eclipse icon (…) following which you have to tap on transfer to starred. Run over the contact and then tap on the phone call and make your call.
- Search contacts. Input the name for searching your external, internal, and synced contacts.
Step 6. Tap the blue transfer button and then tap on the transfer method.
Step 7. When you select a warm transfer then the present call will be made on hold while connecting the dialed number. Tap complete transfer for transferring the call and hanging up the phone. You can also use the in-call controls before completing the transfer. Tap cancel transfer when you think to cancel the warm transfer and then get back to the original call.
Way of transferring a call from the mobile app.
Step 1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop client.
Step 2. Tap on the phone.
Step 3. By following the guide you can receive or make a call.
Step 4. While in a call you can tap transfer.
Step 5. You can dial a number or click the contact icon for searching the starred external, internal phone contacts. Click on the contact and make the call.
Step 6. Click the blue transfer button and then choose the transfer method.
Step 7. When you selected warm transfer then the present call will be made on hold while connecting the dialed number. You can click on complete transfer for transferring the call and then hang up your phone. Also if you wish then use most in-call controls before completing the transfer. Anytime click cancel transfer when you think to cancel the warm transfer and then return to the original call.
