Preconditions for editing or creating the synced contacts.
- Must possess the zoom phone license.
- The zoom admin must enable the policy setting for voicemail.
- In your contact, the contacts integration should be set up along with the enabled write permission.
Remember, contact the admin when you can’t click to enable the write permission. However, they can have restricted access to the contact permissions.
- You should have the zoom client version for Mac OS, Windows, or Linux with version 5.6.6 or above.
Way of creating the new synced contact.
You can generate synced contacts by using the call voicemail or history.
Step 1. You have to zoom sign in on the desktop client.
Step 2. Tap on the phone section.
Step 3. Then tap on the voicemail section.
Step 4. Run over the voicemail entry by selecting the ellipses button (…). After that, you have to tap on create outlook contact or create Google contact.
Step 5. Input the below-asked data.
- First name.
- Last name.
- Email address.
- Your mobile number (was earlier entered from the voicemail call history data. )
- The type of phone number such as main, home, mobile, work.
Remember, the present number types depend on the third-party contacts service.
- Contact folder. Choose the contact folder for adding the new contacts.
Remember, The contact folders are solely supported when you set up the contact integration with Office 365, Outlook, or Exchange. Just zoom sign in to office 365, the Outlook, Exchange account for editing the contact folders. When you set up the contact integration with Google, you can only see the option.
Step 6. Tap on create.
- This new synced contact finds appearance in the contacts section under the cloud contacts tab.
- When you set up the contacts integration with Outlook, Exchange, or Office 365. And at the same time, you have organized the contacts into folders then you will find contacts organized by these folders in the cloud contacts.
Procedure to edit the existing synced contact with adding the phone number.
After you add the phone number then you can edit the existing synced contact.
Remember, for editing other fields of the existing synced contact, you have to access your third-party contact service. For instance, Outlook or Google.
Step 1. You have to zoom sign in on the desktop client.
Step 2. Tap on the phone section.
Step 3. Then tap on the voicemail section.
Step 4. Run over the voicemail entry by selecting the ellipses button (…). After that, you have to tap on add to outlook contact or add to Google contacts.
Step 5. Input the needed information.

- Find Google contact/ Find outlook contact. Input the name of the contact at the search box through your already present contacts. Following that tap on a contact.
Step 6. Tap on add.
The linked phone number will be added to the synced contact.
