Zoom recording and viewing of call history
When your zoom phone is activated then by using the zoom client you can view their call history, outgoing calls, answers, and missed incoming calls. When you enable contacts integration, then from the entered call history you can also create a new contact.
Remember,
- Try using the zoom web portal for viewing the recordings and call history when you require filtering the calls by contact or date.
- When the admin grants you access to another phone user’s recording then you can solely access the call recordings by using the zoom web portal.
- Features like downloading, playing, or deleting the ad hoc recordings by using in-call controls can be played by default. At times when you can’t view the recordings then request the admin permitting you to access them.
- Recordings and call history are synced between the zoom mobile app and desktop client. It would comprise the red circled notification icon. For instance, when you apply the new call recording in the desktop client then it removes the notification icon on the mobile app.

Preconditions for recording or viewing the call history.
- You should have the zoom desktop client of Mac OS, Windows, or Linux version of 5.5.9 or above.
- You should have the mobile app for Android iOS for version 5.5.0 or above.
- Additionally, must have a zoom phone license.

Way of zoom recording or viewing the call history.

For Mac OS, Windows and Linux.
Know the below steps you can save call recordings and view the call history.
Step 1. You have to sign in to the zoom client.
Step 2. From there tap on the phone section.
Step 3. Then tap on the history tab.
There you will find the most recent call history shown at the top.
Step 4. Select the drop-down menu below the tabs for filtering the call histories entries by recorded or missed calls.
Step 5. Run through the call history entry options.
Remember, when the caller hid their respective call ID then you can delete the entries.
- Those having the synced contacts you can find the general contact card which will have the name of the third-party service with every phone number added to the contact.
- For external and internal zoom contacts, you can find the zoom user’s contact card with additional meet or chat options.
- When the call gets recorded you can tap the play icon which will start playing the associated recorded files.
- For calling the selected number just tap on the phone icon.
- You will find the following options, from which tap on the desired eclipse.
- Copy Number. You can copy the associated phone numbers for the system’s control.
- Send a text message. This will send an SMS message to the number. However, this will be visible when you have enabled the SMS.
- Meet without Video/ Meet with video/ chat. (This featured option can be enabled when the phone number would belong to an external or internal zoom contact. ) This begins the instant meeting in the one-on-one chat format with the contact.
- Send a Text Message. When you have SMS enabled then only it’s visible. Send an SMS text message to the contact number.
- Add to Outlook contact/ add to Google contacts. It’s visible only with enabled contacts integration. Adding the linked phone number with the existing synced contacts. You can access the zoom contact in Outlook or Google when you would require to further edit the contact details.
- Creating Outlook contact / creating Google contact. It’s visible only with enabled contacts integration. You can create a fresh outlook or google contact by using the call history entries. These fresh contacts will appear in the contact tab. You can have access to contacts in outlook or google when you require to further edit the contact details.
- View profile. It’s visible in case the number belongs to the synced or internal contacts. With this, you can view the details of the associated caller.
- Invite as Zoom contact. You can send the invitation along with mentioning the details of the email of the call participant. With this, they can receive a unique link email for adding it to their zoom contacts. You can use the feature alternatively for contacts integration when the contact owns a zoom account.
- Download. This can only be viewed when the call is recorded. You can save the recording in an MP3 file.
- Block caller. Adding the phone number to the block list is possible.
- Clear all call history. You can delete all the entries of the call history. In that case, the call recording will get deleted.
- Call duration. It will display to you the duration for the call-in seconds and minutes.
For iOS / Android.
You can follow the below steps for viewing the call history and saving the call recordings.
Step 1. You have to sign in to the zoom client.
Step 2. From there tap on the phone section.
Step 3. Then tap on the history tab.
There you will find the most recent call history shown at the top.

Step 4. You can use the below options for managing your recordings and call history.
Remember, when the caller hid their caller ID identity, you only can delete or select the entry.
- For deleting or selecting the various entries all at once you can choose the top right corner button.
- Choose from the below features:
- Call back. It will again call the zoom phone number linked with the caller history entry. For that, you can select the phone number in the history and then can call it.
- Call duration. It shows the call duration of the call seconds or minutes.
- Send a Text message. It’s visible when you have enabled the SMS. It will send an SMS text message to the contact number.
- Meet without Video/ Meet with video/ chat. (This featured option can be enabled when the phone number would belong to an external or internal zoom contact. ) This begins the instant meeting in the one-on-one chat format with the contact.
- Star this contact. It’s visible only when it’s in the internal contact. Adding the contacts for your starred contacts, permitting you to easily call them.

- Copy Number. You can copy the associated phone numbers to the system’s clipboard.
- Viewing profile. When the linked phone number belongs to the external, internal, or synced contacts then only it can view the contact card.
- For the synced contacts you can see a general contact card with the third-party service name and every phone number will be added to that contact.
- For zoom external and internal contacts, you can see the additional options and the user’s contact card to meet or chat.
- Adding existing phone contact. You can use your phone’s default contact application which will help in adding the associated phone number to an existing phone number. You will find this option in external, internal, or synced contacts.
- Creating phone contact. You can use the default contact app in creating a new phone contact using a linked zoom phone number. You will find this option in external, internal, or synced contacts.
- Block caller. You can add the phone number to the blocked list.
- Delete item. You can delete the chosen caller history only. When there’s a call recording it will also get deleted.
- Invite as Zoom contact. You can send the invitation along with mentioning the details of the email of the call participant. - When you have a recorded call then you can select recording for these options.
- The share Icon. With this, you can save or share the call recording file. There can be different share options based on installed apps on your phone.
- Phone icon. You can call the number linked with the call recording.
- Trash icon. With this, you can delete the chosen recording.
- Play icon. It will help you in playing the chosen call recording. Choose a speaker to use the speakerphone for playback.
For Web.
You can view the call history.
Step 1. You have to sign in to the zoom client.
Step 2. From there tap on the phone section.
Step 3. Then tap on the history tab.
Step 4. You can use the search option appearing at the top filter from the call history by contact and date. You can also tap on the column headings to sort out the entries.
Step 5. Identify the calls by the following –
- When the number has a caller id name or identity from the same organization then you can find a name above the phone number. Remember, when you enable the contacts integration, then you can’t sync the contact’s name while viewing the call history in the web portal. Get displayed the zoom call history in the desktop client for identifying the synced contacts.
- Those outgoing calls will have their icon near the contacts number and name.
- View the result column in identifying the call status whether canceled, connected, recorded, or no answer.
- When you answer a call from the call queue then you can see the call queue in the result column. Tap details in the last column for viewing the call queue details.
- While answering the call from the call queue, you will find the band of the call queue in the result column. Tap on details from the last columns min viewing the call queue details.
- You can find anonymous entries for those calls that do not have the caller ID. ( the caller ID name and number would be hidden by the caller ).
Step 6. Use the below options in managing your call history.
- Tap delete for deleting the caller history entry.
- For deleting various entries at once, tap on the check box near the contact number or name bad then flick on the block available at the top of the table.
Viewing and saving call recordings.
Step 1. You have to sign in to the zoom client.
Step 2. From there tap on the phone section.
Step 3. Tap on the recording tab.
Step 4. For identifying and searching recordings, you can use the option:
- When your admin permits you to access the phone user or caller queue’s recording then from the drop-down menu you can use the recording (all) which will filter call recordings by the owner.
- The outgoing recording calls are identified with the phone (with an upper right-side arrow) icon.
Step 5. For managing, call recordings tap the below features-
- Download icon. It will save the recordings to an mp3 file.
- Play icon. For playing the recorded file in the web portal.
- Delete. You can delete picked call recordings. For deleting several entries all at once, you can tap on the check box beside the contact number and name and then tap on delete.
Way of identifying call history entries in the mobile app or desktop client.
Caller id.
- When the number has a caller ID name then the zoom phone will be shown above the number.
- When the number is being passed by an internal contact instead of a caller Id’s name it will show the zoom phone contact name as set in their zoom profile. It will also display the contact extension phone number.
- When the number is being possessed by a synced contact then the zoom phone will show the synced contact’s name as per the third-party service in place of the caller ID name.
Icons and labels.
- The responded incoming calls will be viewed in black text. The missed ones are highlighted in red text.
- The outgoing call will have a phone with the right-side upper arrow icon beside the number.
- Those calls which were recorded display recording below the contact number.
- You can find anonymous entries for those calls that do not have the caller ID. ( the caller ID name and number would be hidden by the caller ).
- Those calls routed through a call queue would show missed for following the call queue name.
