There’s a zoom feature of group call pick up which enables members in picking up the inbound calls from the same group members. You also won’t have to access the zoom client or the members of the desk phone. Those zoom members can be common area phones or phone users.
For instance, every agent can be added when you consist of a team of agents from several business hours. Also, include every agent in the call pick-up group where all agents will be educated about the zoom inbound calls to other agents. At the moment any member does not accept the call, then all other members will get a prompt of approving or disapproving the call.
Preconditions for using or zoom setting the group call pick up.
- The user should have a zoom education, pro, or business account.
- Must possess the zoom phone license.
- The group pickup call necessitates the:
- The zoom users should use the desktop version for macOS, Windows, or Linux for 5.9.3 or above.
- There must be enabled the provisions desk phone version supporting group call pick up.
Restrictions.
- The extension number won’t be used for receiving the phone calls. For inputting the extension number the desk phone users can use the DTMF code for the group call pick up.

- The zoom app won’t support the group call pick-up.
- The common area phones or phone users can’t be group call, pick-up members. While adding the common area phone, it should support the group call pick up.
Way of zoom setting up of the call pick up for admins.
It’s the role played by the zoom phone admins who can add as members the common area phones or phone users and can create the call pick-up agents.
Remember, the group call pickup members can either be common area phones or phone users. While adding the common area phone, it should support the group call pick up. Here’s how-
Step 1. You have to zoom sign in to the web portal.
Step 2. From the navigation menu, tap on phone system management to Group Call Pick up.
Step 3. Input the below information –
- Display Name. You have to input the name assisting in recognizing the group.
- Site. (It’s viewable for several sites). Choose a site from the group.
Remember, you can add the common area phone or phone users being part of the same website as the call pick-up group.
- Extension number- for allocating it to the group, input the extension number.
Remember,
- When several sites are enabled with the site codes, input the short extension number.
- While receiving zoom calls, you can’t be able to use the extension number. The zoom phone users have to enter the extension number using the DTMF code for group call pick up.
- Members. Tap add for adding the common area phones or phone users as the members.
Remember, add the common area phones or phone users while belonging to different sites.
- Delay. Particularize the period in seconds before other members are prompted about the incoming calls. Choose 0 seconds while at the same time promoting other members.
- Directed call pickup. For accepting other members’ calls in selecting the connected BLF key on the desk phone, you have to permit the group members. While disabling the group members in accepting the calls, tap the linked DTMF code after other members’ extension.
- Play incoming calls sound in zoom clients. There’s a toggle that will set up an alerting prompt for notifying other members of incoming calls if not accepted. Tap on it. From there you can set your chosen duration or ring tone.
- The duration between ringtones. Helps you in selecting the period between each ringtone. Remember, there you will find a prompt (as a member) for dismissing or answering the call. In case the zoom setting has been disabled then there will be no prompt sound other than the pop-up windows signifying the incoming call.
- Ringtone. You can choose a ringtone that will ring if the call is not accepted.
Step 4. Tap on save.
For the phone users and admin, the procedure of customizing the group pick-up line key.
There will be an automated display of the group call pick-up line key for the common area phones and phone users who have been added to the call pick-up group. The group call pick-up will be seen on the allocated desk phones.

Can you add the desktop power user experience to the widget for group call pick-up?
It’s the zoom admins or the zoom users of the phone, who can add the desktop power user experience to the widget for group call pick-up. But only when the phone user is a part of the call pickup group or has subscribed with the power pack add-on. Therefore, then the zoom admins can add a group call pick-up widget.
Way of using the group call pick up.
While any zoom member accepts the call of the call pick-up group then, they can receive it by seeing the line keys. Members would get an inbound call notification.
Initiate the steps in receiving the call while involved in the call pick-up group.
DTMF Code.
After dialing your extension number from the call pick-up group, make a call on +98. You can accept the present inbound call after getting involved in the call pick-up group.
Desk phone.
Click on the soft key called group ball pickup from the desk phone. You will accept the present inbound call after contacting the call pick-up group.
Members are allowed to answer the first incoming call, in case there comes multiple incoming calls in the group.
Zoom desktop client.
Step 1. You have to zoom sign in to the web portal.
Step 2. Select the phone tab.
Step 3. Choose lines tab.
If any zoon member gets a call from the call pickup group then, the rest can find the caller ID of the incoming call and options to reject or approve the call.
Remember, in case someone is using the desktop power user experience, the same feature will be available for the grip call pick-up widget.
Voicemail or call history for the group call pickup.
- The call pick-up members won’t find a voicemail left for the rest of the members.
- Since you refuse to answer a call in the group then, that particular call will not enter into your call history. And that call will remain open to answer for other members of the group.
- If you answer on behalf of another member of the group then that call will enter into the call history.
