In your role as a presenter, you will play a vital role in the success of the event as one of the behind-the-scenes workers.
Desktop
If you wish to take part as a presenter in the event, select Join in Teams. In order to open the live event in Teams, you will need to select the join link when you are outside of Teams.
A presenter shares many of the basic capabilities of a producer, however you don’t have as much control over the video feeds or the live event itself as do a producer.

iPad
Providing presentations is part of your role as a presenter.
Before you begin
- It is required that your iPad runs iOS 10 or a later version of the operating system.
- In order to deliver a video resolution of 1280×720, it is necessary to maintain a bitrate of at least 2,000 kilobits per second (Kbps).
- To make the presentation as easy as possible, we recommend that you use either the iPad Pro or the iPad Air.
- It is supported but not recommended that iPad Mini 2 and iPad 4 be used together.
- In order for this feature to work, you must have one of the following iPad models: iPad 1, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad Mini 1.
Important: A presenter role in the meeting is required to present.
IPad does not currently support the producer role. On an iPad, anyone else will be able to attend the meeting only as an attendee, except for presenters. Visit Roles in a Teams meeting to learn more about attendee capabilities.
Presenter capabilities
During a live event, iPad users can present the following:
- Presenters and producers can chat with each other
- Post your video on social media
- Join the live event by sharing your screen
- Presenters can be invited from other attendees
- Other presenters can be muted
Current limitations
The following cannot be done by presenters:
- Q&A sessions can be viewed or participated in. The pre-join screen allows you to join as an attendee after leaving the meeting and rejoining it.
- Multiple streams can be shared simultaneously. Your video cannot be shared simultaneously with your screen, for example.
- Presenters should share the audio from their system.
Join the event and present content
- Join as a presenter in Teams. You can join the live event outside of Teams by clicking the join link.
- When presenting live video, select Camera from the meeting controls to turn on your camera. Your iPad will be rotated to provide a better view to attendees.A yellow border will appear on your video if the event hasn’t started yet.
“QUEUED” with a yellow border indicates that the event has already begun.
In the case of an event that has already begun, you’ll see “LIVE” with a red border if your video is already being broadcast by the producer.
- The Share content button in the meeting controls allows you to present content or switch between sharing types.
Tip: Make sure your Teams status is set to Do not disturb before sharing your screen. Please refer to the Change your status page for instructions.
- You can broadcast your screen if you choose to do so.
- Select Stop sharing when you’re done with your presentation.
