Enable executive or executive assistant services for a Webex Calling user
A Webex Calling user can turn-on the features of executive, executive assistant, or executive assistant assistant in the Control Hub. There are a number of executive assistants available to those users who have chosen to use the executive assistant service, who can answer or make phone calls on behalf of those users who request this service. Assistants to executives have the ability to set the destination of calls forwarded to them, as well as join or leave executive pools. In the Calling User Portal, you can manage the settings for executives and executive assistants.
Enable executive or executive assistant services
- You can enable Executive or Executive Assistant permissions for a user by going to Users under the customer view in https://admin.webex.com and selecting the user for whom you wish to enable the privilege.
- Turn on Executive Permissions under the Between-User Permissions section of Calling, after having selected Calling.
- There is a choice between enabling the executive assistant service or executive assistant service for the user.
There should be assigned phone numbers for executive assistants as well as executive assistants, rather than just extensions on their phone lines.
A user can update the default settings for his or her executive or executive assistant in the User Portal of the Calling system. The Calling User Portal can be found at https://settings.webex.com after you have access to the General section of the Webex User Portal. It is possible to update the settings of the executive and executive assistant services in the Calling User Portal by following the instructions contained in this article.
The number of assistants can be configured according to your needs. In order to configure assistants for a number of executives, the following steps must be taken. Shared line setting option
When users are physically present at the same location, it is possible to use a shared line appearance along with the executive service. It is easier to use the feature of shared line appearance when it is configured with the executive service. See Add and reorder lines for an MPP phone for more information about how to configure the appearance of shared lines.
