Configure Hotline (PLAR) on Cisco MPP, ATA19x and Audiocodes ATA devices- Webex
You have the ability, in your role as a customer administrator, to configure a phone so that as soon as it is taken off line, it immediately dials a certain number. This enables you to take use of the time-saving and convenient features offered by this feature. The Private Line Automatic Ringdown (PLAR) function is a hotline that may be configured in the Cisco Webex Control Hub. This feature is applicable to ATA, Deskphone, users, and workspaces.
When PLAR is configured on a line, the E911 dialing function on that line is rendered inoperable. Phones that have the PLAR function installed cannot dial any other numbers from the line that is being used for PLAR configuration.
Configure a hotline for ATA
Before you begin
- When PLAR is enabled for any port, T.38 is disabled.
- When PLAR is enabled, inbound calls to that ATA port are not accepted.
1. From the customer view on admin.webex.com, navigate to the Workspaces > Devices menu option.
2. Locate and pick the user whose settings you want to alter.
3. From the Phone Users and Settings menu, select the Configure Lines option.
4. To enable hotline for the device, you must first toggle the Hotline port.
- It is not possible to set up a hotline in a port that is already being used by a T.38.
5. Enter the extension or phone number that you want the device to automatically dial when the hook is released on it.
6. Select the Save option.
Configure hotline for Deskphones
A deskphone’s secondary line can only be set up as a hotline if the primary line has already been set up in this manner.
When a Primary line’s shared lines are configured as hotlines, the Primary line itself will likewise be reconfigured as a hotline.
1. From the customer view at https://admin.webex.com, navigate to the Workspaces > Devices menu option.
2. Find and then choose the user you want to edit.
3. Select Lines Configuration from the Phone Users and Settings menu.
4. To enable hotline for the device, toggle the switch located on the port labeled “Hotline.”
5. Enter the extension or phone number that should be dialed automatically when the device is taken off the hook.
- You can set the destination to any number by manually entering it, or you can choose one from the list of existing extensions and phone numbers.
When routing calls, use extensions for destinations that are in the same location as the device; otherwise, specify the destination’s complete E.164 number or Location Code with Extension.
6 Choose to save the file.
