Using text message notifications in Bookings, attendees can easily join appointments through their phones and reduce no shows and decrease the number of missed appointments.

Only the United States and Canada are currently able to use this feature.

Try it!

  1. Open the Bookings section in Microsoft Teams.
  2. The appointment types can be set up in Settings so that text messages are automatically sent out for them by default.
  3. Whenever you are making a new booking, please make sure that you check the consent box and that the toggle is set to send text messages. When you are making the booking, please also ensure that you check the box to confirm that the attendee has consented to receiving text message notifications as part of the booking process.
  4. It is possible to allow attendees to join an appointment from a mobile browser without having to download the Teams app if you select Allow attendee to join from a mobile browser.
  5. A text message will be sent to them with information about their appointment, as well as a confirmation text message. There will be a standard rate for text messages sent.
  6. It is possible to send text messages for appointments that are currently in the queue and can provide status updates and reminders.
  7. A reminder is sent an hour before an appointment so that attendees are aware of any updates. You will also find a link in the message that will allow you to join the conference call.
  8. The Teams, if the link is selected, can be joined directly from their mobile browser without having to download the Teams application on their mobile device.
  9. For attendees to be able to receive messages again in the future, they can reply STOP to the message. You can also reply START to the same number if you would like to resume receiving messages from that number.

In this article, I will show you how to use Teams for personal and small business purposes to chat via SMS
  1. Click on the New chat button.
  2. In the To: field, put the participant’s phone number, and then find the number in the results list that matches the participant’s phone number.
  3. In order to add a name to a contact, you will need to fill in the Add contact name field (Type a name on Desktop) with the name you wish to add and then click the Add (Add Name) button.
Firstly, open Microsoft Teams, then go to Apps, then Find and select the ‘Incoming Webhook’ connector from the list of connectors. If you wish to send notifications through the Team site where the connector is added, you must do so. It is important to give your Webhook a name that is appropriate for your message, and you may choose to upload an icon as well.
There are a number of things you should know before you use Teams service (Teams does not support texting). Teams does support chatting through personal conversations and team channels through its apps.
