How to Uninstall Teams in Microsoft Teams

The process for uninstalling Teams on a machine is not simple, so be sure you follow every step as you uninstall both items for all users on that machine.

  1. Once you have finished using Teams, you can head to the taskbar, right-click the Teams icon, and choose Quit Team from the menu that appears.
  2. The Start button on your computer will take you to the Settings section, where you can find the Apps.
  3. You can find “teams” under the Apps & Features menu.
  4. When you have highlighted Microsoft Teams, you will have the option to uninstall it.
  5. There will be a box that appears, click Uninstall again to confirm, then a confirmation box will appear. As soon as you accept this permission, you will be asked whether you want this application to be able to make any future changes to your device since you will be asked whether to accept it? Please select the Yes option.
  6. Please click the Uninstall button after selecting Teams Machine-Wide Installer from the list of options. In the same way as in step 5, follow the same procedure in this step as well.

 

 

To uninstall Teams you need to uninstall both Microsoft Teams and Teams Machine-Wide Installer.

Notes: 

  • Uninstalling Office will also remove Teams from your computer as well.
  • In the event that you reinstall or do a system repair, you will find that Teams is included in the software.
  • Teams can be prevented from being installed when Office is being installed by administrators.

If you wish to quit Teams, right-click the Teams app in your dock, hold down Option and click the Force Quit button when you are ready. Drag Microsoft Teams to the Trash by dragging it from the Application Folder by clicking the Microsoft Teams icon in the folder and then selecting Microsoft Teams in the folder.
