Requiring Personal Audio Conference passcodes in zoom App
Personal Audio Conference (PAC) meetings can be made more secure by enabling the passcode functionality. When participants join the conference, they must enter a passcode. A listen-only passcode can also be added by enabling a passcode. You can view or change your PAC passcode if you enable a PAC passcode.
Prerequisites for requiring Personal Audio Conference passcodes
- Pro, Business or Education account with anĀ audio conferencing plan
- Account owner or admin privileges
How to enable or disable PAC passcode requirements
Account
Passcode required for users in the account can be enabled or disabled as follows:
- Edit account settings by logging in as an admin to the Zoom web portal.
- Click on Account Management from the left navigation panel, then Account Settings from the right navigation panel.
- The Meetings tab will appear.
- To enable or disable Personal Audio Conference require a passcode under Security, click the button.
- To verify the change, click Enable or Disable on a verification dialog box.
- Click the lock icon and then click Lock to confirm this setting. If you want all users in your account to use this setting, you must click the lock icon.
Group
Note:
The Group Management page has been renamed to Groups on your Zoom account if you registered for a new account after August 21, 2021 or if you enabled the New Admin Experience in your account.
The following procedure needs to be followed to enable or disable Password Requirement for Personal Audio Conference for a group of users:
- As an admin, you can edit groups on the Zoom web portal.
- Click on Users, then Groups in the navigation panel.
- From the list, select the relevant group.
- The Meetings tab will appear.
- Enable or disable the Personal Audio Conference passcode requirement under Security.
- Click Enable or Disable on the verification dialog to confirm the change.
Note: - It needs to be changed at the account level if the option is grayed out.
- Click on the lock icon, and then click Lock after you confirm your setting in order to make this setting mandatory for all users in the group.
User
You can enable or disable the Passcode required for Personal Audio Conferences for own use by following the steps below:
- Zoom can be accessed by logging into the website.
- Clicking the Settings link will take you to the Zoom settings page.
- Select the Meeting tab from the drop-down menu.
- If you want to enable or disable Require a passcode for Personal Audio Conference, click the Require a passcode for Personal Audio Conference toggle switch.
- To verify the change, click Enable or Disable in the dialog box that appears if a verification dialog is displayed.
Note: - It may have been locked either at the group level or at the account level if an option is grayed out. The Zoom admin should be contacted if this is the case.
