Supported Webex video file formats
During a meeting, users of the Meetings mobile app will be able to view files in the following formats when a presenter distributes files from their Meetings desktop app:
-
.asf
-
.asx
-
.avi
-
.mov
-
.mp3
-
.mp4
-
.qt
-
.wma
-
.wmb
In the event that a presenter uses a file format that is not recognized, the motion may be impossible or it may need to be very small. Additionally, the audio component of the movie will not be unsupported in any way.
File sharing limitation
The sharing of audio/video files, including .mp4, is not supported.
Whiteboard sharing
Audio loss when leaving the app
When you abandon the app that you are using to connect to a meeting that you connected to using Call In or Call Back, the app will disconnect you from the meeting that is currently taking place. We strongly advise you to stay in the program so that you can maintain your connection to the meeting.
If you have Connect Using Internet enabled, even after leaving the app you will remain connected as you would anticipate.
Autoconnect audio limitations
Automatic audio connection won’t work if the audio type of your meeting doesn’t support the audio connection type that you specify in your app. This will prevent it from working.
If the audio type of the meeting is only VoIP and the meeting itself is not a video device-enabled meeting, then the automatic connection that uses the Internet will not function.
Disconnect on phones after telephony is connected
After joining the audio conference via telephone, if your telecommunications provider does not support simultaneous speech and data transmissions, you will be dropped from the call.
iOS security pop-up dialog box
When users log in through Single Sign-On or by selecting a meeting link, they are presented with a pop-up dialog that requests that they “Open this page in Webex.”
Meeting details shouldn’t display toll-free numbers
Toll-free number displays are disabled by the site preferences; however, the numbers continue to be displayed.
Proximity integration (beta)
This integration facilitates device-enabled meetings, as well as those that are scheduled and held in personal rooms.
Shared video file limitations
If you participate in the audio conference for your meeting by using the phone, you will not be able to hear the audio from any shared media files such as videos.
If you navigate away from the application while a.svs file is playing, the video location might not be centered when you return.
The video content of a.flv file is hidden and cannot be viewed.
“Shared content not supported” message appears
During a meeting, if a presenter wants to share a video file with attendees, the app may display a message that says “Shared content not supported” for up to six seconds. The error in the file’s display is ultimately fixed.
Video callback limitations
Following the successful connection of a video device through the use of video callback, participants will be displayed in the participant roster and video strip twice.
Watch OS1 not supported
To use the app, upgrade to Watch OS2.
Webex VoIP disconnects when receiving phone calls
When you get a phone conversation while using an iPhone that is connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data, or while using Connect Using Internet, your VoIP audio session will be terminated. There is still a chance for you to reconnect to the audio conversation.
Phone numbers that include special characters don’t launch the phone dialer
After the version 15.4 update, tapping on phone numbers in applications that contain the pound (#) or star (*) symbol no longer links to the phone app. The link may appear to be clickable; however, tapping it will not actually initiate a conversation. The most recent version of iOS alters the way in which third-party applications like Outlook and Teams communicate with telephone numbers that contain special characters.
Apple has made public documentation that verifies this new behavior is intended on their part. Follow the link in the paragraph below to learn more about it.
Apple requests that you get in touch with them so they can hear your thoughts on this modification.
Certain meetings don’t appear in your meetings list without Hybrid Calendar
You will not see the following appointments appear in your meetings list in the appointments mobile app if you do not have Hybrid Calendar:
- Personal Room meetings
- Those gatherings for which you did not receive a personal invitation to attend. (forwarded invites or invites sent to a distribution list that you belong to)
- Meetings hosted on a different Webex site
ASUS ZenFone crash
When attempting to connect to a conference on an ASUS ZenFone, you might experience a crash. (Intel Atom CPU). When using an x86-based CPU, Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) has a widespread problem that everyone knows about. We strongly suggest that you upgrade your device’s firmware.
Calendar meetings not appearing in the meeting list
It’s possible that the appointment won’t show up in your list of My Meetings if the language of the calendar event and the language of your device are different. If you start the app again after changing the language of your device to match the language used in the meeting, you should see the meeting appear in the list of upcoming events. After that, you’ll be able to return the device’s translation settings to your preferred setting.
Calendar meetings not appearing in the meeting list
If you are using S Planner version 3.11.57 or an earlier version, it is possible that you will not be able to view your calendar appointments in the My appointments section on certain Samsung devices.
It is strongly suggested that you update the S Planner application to the most recent version available. S Planner versions 3.11.57 and previous are not supported by this application.
Can’t change the unlock screen setting
The None and Swipe choices are unavailable after you have signed in to the application and changed the setting for the app’s unlock screen from None to PIN. If you want to modify your settings, you can either uninstall the app or clear your credentials.
Can’t use Meetings in the Microsoft Intune environment
Users are prevented from accessing their Webex site if the software has not been installed in the work profile associated with Microsoft Intune:

Users are unable to launch the application if it has been installed in their work identity through Microsoft Intune.

Changes to the App Protection Policies can be made in the Microsoft endpoint manager Administration Center by users who are experiencing these problems. Visit the website of Microsoft for further information.
Meetings Server (CWMS) issues
It is not possible to attend meetings using CWMS 2.6 or later on an Android device. A workaround that can be used is to first log in to the application before attempting to connect to the conference.
First frame of video doesn’t appear
When a video file is shared during a conference, it’s possible that you won’t be able to see the first frame of the video if your mobile network connection is poor.
Incorrect calendar meeting password
There is a possibility that the app will not display your meeting password correctly if it includes any spaces. You will not have any further difficulties in attending the conference.
Issue when switching between VoIP and Audio Broadcast
There is a problem with switching from voice over internet protocol (VoIP) to audio transmission more than once when a video file is being shared.
Meeting details shouldn’t display toll-free numbers
Toll-free number displays are disabled by the site preferences; however, the numbers continue to be displayed.
Performance issue when viewing a shared video file on a slower device
When viewing a video file that has been shared, older devices with a DUO-Core CPU could experience performance problems.
Proximity integration (beta)
This integration facilitates device-enabled meetings, as well as those that are scheduled and held in personal rooms.
Recent Personal Room meetings
The Recents screen of the Meetings mobile app does not display Personal Room meetings that were entered using the Meetings desktop app. Only meetings in your Personal Room that you attended using your Android smartphone will be added to the Recents screen.
“Shared content not supported” message appears
During a meeting, if a presenter wants to share a video file with attendees, the app may display a message that says “Shared content not supported” for up to six seconds. The error in the file’s display is ultimately fixed.
Use audio and sharing documents (data) simultaneously
You are unable to make an audio-only conversation or use data services at the same time if you are connected to a CDMA network like the one provided by Sprint or Verizon due to the limitations imposed by the network. If you join the audio portion of the meeting through an audio-only call, it means that you won’t be able to view any changes that have been made to the participant list or any presentations that have been shared. It’s possible that you’ll be able to use voice services and internet services at the same time if you have access to Wi-Fi or 4G networks. You also have the option of connecting to the audio of the conference through the use of VoIP.
Use VoIP if you don’t see the “Connect using Internet” (VoIP) audio option
If the choice to Connect Using Internet (VoIP) does not appear for you, this indicates that the device you are using is not supported by our VoIP solution at this time. This is something that can occur with older devices that have processors with lesser performance. You are able to participate in the call’s audio component even now.
Due to the fact that the original Kindle Fire lacks a system microphone, the ability to make VoIP calls has been suspended on the device.
Video callback limitations
If you share from the same video device after a video device has connected using video callback, there is a possibility that you will experience some sharing problems.
Following the successful connection of a video device through the use of video callback, participants will be displayed in the participant roster and video strip twice.
Can’t join meetings using the call-in number link
On some phone models, you won’t be able to attend a meeting from a calendar or email app by using the link to an audio-only call-in number because the Android Phone app is unable to pass the call-in number and meeting number to Webex. This is because the Android Phone app requires root access. After you have joined a meeting, you can still call in to participate by calling one of the call-in numbers that are provided in the section labeled “Join by phone.”
Allow the app to access your iOS calendar
Before allowing the mobile software access to your iOS calendar, it is highly recommended that you first grant Microsoft Outlook permission to do so. To make adjustments to your configuration, select Settings > Meeting List, and after that, turn on the Office 365 Calendar.
Cached credentials
Your credentials are stored in a database so that joining meetings can be done more quickly. The amount of time that the following credentials are cached is controlled by settings, which vary based on the sort of site you have:
-
For Single Sign-On (SSO) sites, you’re signed out after a set time after signing in.
-
In the case of websites that do not use single sign-on, you will be automatically signed out after a predetermined amount of time following your initial login, unless you connect to or schedule a meeting before the end of this period.
Contact Webex Technical Support
Use a desktop computer to access the website you’re trying to attend a meeting on so you can get in touch with the company’s technical support team. Go to Support in the left navigation pane, and then select the link that’s under the heading “Contact Support.”
Cross-launch a meeting from Slack and Microsoft Skype for Business
Enable in-app searching in Slack and Microsoft Skype for Business so that you can cross-launch into the app from either of those applications.
Difficulty locating a proximity device
Get in touch with your organization’s IT administrator to check that all of your video devices are compatible with Webex proximity and that it is turned on for all of the video devices.
Face ID
iOS users who are logged into SSO sites or sites managed by Control Hub are able to sign back into their sites by using the Face ID function on their iPhones. This is the same behavior as before for websites whose administration was handled by Webex site Administration.
Forced reinstallation of the mobile app
When you attend a meeting and are prompted to Open in Webex, tap Open to join. Beginning with iOS 10.3.1, application security is handled differently.
Incorrect notification times and missing notifications
The notification for a canceled meeting will remain until the app is accessed once more after it has been canceled.
If you’ve moved to a different time zone but haven’t launched the app yet, the notification will display the time from before the move. When traveling to a new time zone, it is highly recommended that you open your app by hand in order to physically refresh your notification list.
Every time the app is opened, the list of upcoming meetings is updated to reflect changes made up to seven days in preparation.

Meeting list synchronization
We strongly suggest that the calendar on your mobile device be set up to synchronize with the mail server used by your company. This will allow you to view all of your forthcoming appointments in the “My Meetings” section of the app. For further instructions, please get in touch with the IT administrator of your business.
Meetings aren’t appearing in the meeting list
If your appointments aren’t showing up on your meeting list, you can try the following solutions:
- Make sure that the “calendar scraping” feature on your device is turned on and that the calendar on your device is set up to receive appointments from both Microsoft Outlook and Google Calendar.
- Make it possible for the source of your meeting list in Microsoft Office 365 to sync immediately with your meeting list.
The application will combine any appointments that are already scheduled twice in your calendar. If you want to be able to see all of your meetings in the meeting list, you’ll need to disable this function first.
Prevent the “open this meeting in Webex” dialog
When a user taps to attend a meeting, they have the option of receiving confirmation dialog displays. This indicates that in order to attend a meeting, they will need to tap another dialog. Users can avoid this by tapping and holding the join link in their meeting notification, and then selecting Open in Webex from the menu that appears. This selection will be saved into your device’s memory, and the confirmation window will no longer appear.
Prompt to install the Webex add-on while joining a meeting on an iPad
For more info on this issue, see I’m prompted to install the Webex add-on while joining a meeting on my iPad.
Retrieve your username and password
You can attempt using the following options if you can’t remember your username:
- Your complete email address
- If your company makes use of Single Sign-On, the registration information for your network.
- The portion of your email address that comes before the domain (for instance, “name” before “example.com”).
Unfortunately, the Webex Technical Support team is unable to reset your passcode. If, after attempting the steps outlined above, you are still unable to log in, you should contact the administrator of the website.
Simultaneous audio and data
In most cases, telecommunications networks can simultaneously deliver speech and data services to customers. Check to see if your device supports voice over LTE (VoLTE) if you are unable to use both audio and data at the same time during a meeting. You can also connect the audio for your meeting through the use of VoIP if it is accessible.
Switch audio to your connected device on iOS
You will only see output-only devices mentioned if you haven’t connected your audio yet, such as Bluetooth or Airplay devices that don’t have microphones. In these circumstances, music will continue to play through the speaker of the iOS device, rather than through the output-only device that has been selected. This feature is not available in earlier versions of iOS than iOS 11.
Touch ID
On iOS and Android devices that are supported, Touch ID will only function for websites that do not require SSO. Only non-SSO websites can be accessed with Touch ID on iOS 9.0 and later devices, as well as compatible Android devices. In order to use Touch ID on your iPhone or iPad, you will need to:
enable it to work with the Webex Meetings mobile app.
Turn off join meeting notifications on iOS
To disable notifications, open the settings menu on your smartphone and scroll down until you find the mobile app. Tap the Notifications tab under Allow Webex to Access, and then turn off the Allow Notifications setting.
Unsupported device message
Should you observe,If you see the message “Your device is not supported with the Webex Meetings application dialog,” this indicates that we have identified serious problems with your device. When using the mobile app, we do not encourage using this particular device. Problems of critical importance include the instability of applications, the absence of system patches, or a shortage of essential components.
Unsupported devices
The Windows Phone and Blackberry 10 mobile operating systems are no longer supported by the Meetings mobile software.
