Managing Security for Scheduled Webex Meetings on Your Site

Starting in WBS40.9, as a Webex administrator, you can manage your Webex meeting lobby and security settings for scheduled meetings.

This functionality is available for sites running WBS40.9 and later.

Control Hub

1. From the customer view at https://admin.webex.com, navigate to the Services menu and pick Sites from the Meeting menu subheading.

2. Select the Webex site whose settings you want to edit, and then click the Configure Site button.

3. Select Security from the drop-down menu located under Common Settings.

4. Select the locking behavior and any additional security features that you want to use under the Webex Meeting Security settings:

When the doors to a meeting are opened. Unlocked meetings are always open to participation from anybody in your organization. Choose the activity that will be enjoyed by guests who are not affiliated with your organization. There are three possibilities: guests can join directly, guests can wait in the foyer until the host admits them, or guests can’t join at all. Guests can join directly.
After [n] minutes have passed since the beginning of the meeting, the meeting should be locked automatically. After the meeting has begun, you have the option to have it lock itself automatically. Simply activate this setting, and then choose the amount of time, in minutes, that you want the meeting to be locked after it has passed.

You have a choice between 0 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, or 20 minutes. By default, meetings lock after 10 minutes.

This preference applies to meetings whose hosts didn’t set their preference when they planned the meeting, which is the case when this setting is used.

When a meeting is closed to the public. You have the option of deciding whether or not attendees wait in the lobby or if they are unable to join the meeting once it has been locked. The two possibilities are as follows: either everybody waits in the lobby until the host admits them, or nobody can enter the meeting.

5. To update, click the button.

Site Admin

1. After logging in, navigate to Webex Site Administration’s Configuration > Common Site Settings > Options menu item.

2. In the section titled “Security Options,” select the locking behavior as well as the following additional security measures under “Webex Meeting Security settings:”
